Two Weeks Of Horseplay

It has been our pleasure these past weeks to not only attend one event, but two in our glorious West Sussex!

It is always exciting for us to attend events to meet all of you lovely people, but to be able to do it in our home County is extra special.

Our day at the stunning Cowdray Park began with an early start!

By the time that the gates opened at 10.30am we were set up, coffee’d up and ready to go!  Although it was cloudy, the sun still shone enough for us and over 6,000 people attended.

The RAF Falcons performed an amazing parachute display – their fearlessness was truly inspiring.

VS King Power, who have added VS to the team’s name in memory of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha who lost his life in a helicopter crash at Leicester City FC stadium in October 2018, altered their line-up for the Final.  Vichai’s son ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha played at number 1 as usual, a truly emotional game for all involved.

They were playing Dubai who last met VS King Power at Cowdray Park back in 2014. After a thrilling first half the score stood at 6-4 in Dubai’s favour. While the crowds made their way onto the pitch to tread-in the divots we had the opportunity to meet more customers and chat about the excitement of the game and the lovely day ahead.

Honestly, this was the first Polo match that any of us had seen before, and it was thrilling!  The game comprised of 6 chukka’s each lasting 7 minutes.  Just when we thought one team was in the lead the other came from behind!  The scores were level at the end of the final chukka and as such the game went into on extra chukka, with Dubai taking the win with a nail-biting finish of 13-12.

Week two saw us attend The Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup of Great Britain, one of the oldest equestrian events in the world, as well as one of the biggest outdoor horse shows in the country.

Hickstead is a highlight of the West Sussex social calendar. Her Majesty The Queen is the official show patron, giving the show its Royal prefix.

To say that we were not only excited but privileged to be a part of such a prestigious event was an understatement.

Each day comprised of something different for attendees, we delighted in meeting so many of you in the earlier part of the week before the competition really got heated up!

The most important part of these events for us, is to meet new people, we love meeting you all, hearing your thoughts on our socks and our company.  It helps us to grow and better ourselves, it helps us to understand what is important to you, so that we can deliver the best service possible.

It was a truly thrilling two weeks and we look forward to coming again in 2020!
